StormCAD is a comprehensive modeling software program for the design and analysis of storm sewer systems. StormCAD provides calculations for catchment runoff, inlet capacity, and gutters and pipe network flow. StormCAD determines intercepted flow at network inlets, and routes bypass flow to selected bypass targets. Inlets can be computed using the US Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) HEC-22 methodology and users can choose from grate, curb, slot, ditch, and combination inlet types. Engineers can use a variety of methods to compute headloss, including HEC-22 Energy and AASHTO. StormCAD uses the Rational Method to calculate peak flows in the storm sewer design, or accepts direct input of known flows for inlet inflows. StormCAD allows users to specify Intensity-Duration-Frequency data using equations or tables. Modelers can then plot the IDF curves, and reuse their data for other projects in that region. Engineers can work with an unlimited number of sub-watershed areas and C coefficients for each inlet watershed. The constraint-based design features in StormCAD allow modelers to automatically design gravity piping and structures. The design is flexible enough to allow users to specify the elements to be designed, from a single pipe size to the entire system, by simply entering the appropriate design conditions: minimum / maximum velocities, covers, and slopes; pipe elevation offsets (including whether or not to allow drop structures), maximum spread and depth for inlets in sag; and minimum efficiency for inlets on grade. Bentley StormCAD is a software for the integrated development and analysis of storm sewer systems. The intuitive interface of the program makes it easier than ever to develop and analyze stormwater drainage systems from street runoff to a water outlet. Bentley StormCAD provides calculations for flow rate, inlet flow rate, stormwater flow and flow in the pipeline. Bentley StormCAD is a turnkey solution that allows you to use it standalone, or in AutoCAD. Regardless of the platform used, Bentley StormCAD software contains a single set of model data files for proper interoperability with each platform. The stand-alone interface provides easy-to-use model layout tools, support for complex structure backgrounds, CAD conversion utilities, GIS and databases, as well as an unlimited number of undo and restore layout operations. In addition, AutoCAD users can add AutoCAD integration features to create, layout and diagram models with precision accuracy in an environment that has become familiar to them. The Bentley StormCAD detects the interception of the flow of water into the collector system and directs the flow along the bypass channels to the selected endpoints. Water inlets can be calculated according to the method of the Federal Highway Administration of the USA (FHWA) HEC-22, and grilles, curbs, hatches, ditches and their combinations can be selected as water inlets. Engineers can use a variety of methods to calculate head loss, including the HEC-22 Energy and AASHTO methods. Bentley StormCAD is used to determine subcritical, critical and supercritical conditions using reliable standard slowly varying step-by-step algorithms. Bentley StormCAD calculates the pressure loss due to friction using Manning, Kutter, Darcy-Weisbach and Hazen-Williams formulas, and also allows you to select pipe sections of a round, square, vaulted or elliptical shape and sewage sections of irregular, trapezoidal or triangular shape. Bentley StormCAD uses a rational method for calculating flood peak discharge when designing a storm sewer. Instead of the flow rate calculated by the rational method, Bentley StormCAD also allows the direct entry of known flow rates for the supply water inlets. It is allowed to enter or import data on the concentration time of the catchment, or indicate the minimum allowable concentration time to prevent exceeding the maximum flow volume for small water inlets. Bentley StormCAD allows you to specify data on intensity, duration and frequency of precipitation (IDF) using formulas (including Hydro-35) or tables. When performing the simulation, you can then plot the IDF curves and reuse their data for other projects in the region. An engineer can work with an unlimited number of catchment areas and use C-coefficients for each catchment water intake. Bentley StormCAD allows the introduction of external wastewater basins, additional and transfer flows to simulate external effluents that contribute to the load of any water intake. Bentley StormCAD provides several methods for calculating travel times, including the full speed inside the pipe
